Tristan Copley Smith

I'm a London based director/producer and cinematographer, specialized in documentary filmmaking.
I began my career in New York City, where I studied film and broke my teeth in the industry for two years. Returning to the UK, I earned a film production degree at Bournemouth Film School, developing a passion for documentary that has taken me from Spanish maximum-security prisons to French migrant occupations to the European Parliament. I have worked internationally with organisations such as WikiLeaks, Open Source Ecology and 38 Degrees, generating over 1.5 million hits as of 2013. I have received several awards for my work both as director and cinematographer, including ‘Best Documentary’ at the 2011 FFLAC festival in Madrid and 'Audience Choice Award' at the Focus Forward film competition.
