Hey, everyone. I'm Marques Lyons. You may know me as an enthusiast of music. It's quite true; music has been a major part of my life. Since it's been so good to me, I do what I can to use it to help others, and bring communities together.

You may also know (or at least you do now) that I'm a Microsoft Xbox MVP. I've had the award since 2008, when it was originally given for the Zune platform. Since then, and since moving into the Xbox fold, I speak primarily about Xbox Music, with sprinkles here and there about gaming.

As a lifelong music aficionado, and former professional trombonist, I try to offer a unique perspective on the current climate of music services and how they affect artists and listeners, alike. That perspective, as well as other interesting musings, can be found via twitter.

In my years as Microsot MVP, I've helped grow and lead communities through various initiatives, including "Inside the Circle" a Zune-centered blog and "Consumer Camp" a broad education initiative.

Today, my current proejct is "Xbox Beat", which takes the best parts of Inside the Circle and Consumer Camp to create a hub for education on Xbox + Xbox Music, as well as a place for discussion on various topics related to gaming, music, and technology.
