Troy Rhoads
CIO in Cleveland, Oklahoma
I am a generalist! Always have been... I've never been the guy who knew exactly what he wanted to do and sank everything he had into becoming a specific thing. My upbringing however, taught me to be a vested part of my community and to bring what I could into it. To that end, I haven't necessarily lived the life of a "Jet-Setter" but I have stayed at several Holiday Inn Expresses over the years.I have worked to constantly morph into a person of value in whatever situation I am in and have tried to "bloom where I'm planted."I have been in Cleveland, Oklahoma for over 25 years and work for Cleveland Public Schools as the Chief Information Officer. My responsibilities in my current position are varied and range anywhere from fixing a VCR clock to make it quit flashing 12:00 to developing, managing, and implementing internet security and conduct policies for the district.Over the last 30 years, I have also been a classroom teacher in both a primary and a high school setting, working with special needs students, an educational consultant, a public speaker, an active member of my church where I currently play bass in a Chris Tomlin cover band on Sunday mornings, a camp counselor and assistant program director for the YMCA Camp Takatoka as well as a Challenge Course Instructor and volunteer for both the YMCA and the Oklahoma Fellowship of Christian Athletes.I've also held an elected position on the Cleveland City Council, and currently hold a position on the Oklahoma Technology Association board of Directors.
