"Doctors save lives. Entertainers make lives worth saving" - Troy S. Bowerbank

This thought occured to me one day when I was studying. Now don`t get me wrong, we do need Doctors in this world, but a long time ago I realised I did not want to be one of them. There are others ways I can help people. I have always heard people around me say "Work hard, so you can get a stable job" and it saddens me that this is the most encouraging words older people have to offer me regarding my future career.

"A Doctor" is the most common profession that comes up when I ask people my age what they are studying to be. Other responses include "A Lawyer" or "I don`t know". That would be fine if I didn`t usually get a completely different response when I ask them what do they want to be or dream of doing. It always confuses me why people give up on pursuing their "dream job" at such a young age. Call it naive, but if there is a "one in a million" chance of achieving something, if you are good enough and work hard enough, what is to say you won`t be that one?

I think it at least worth a try, if not many. I decided to become an Entertainer as I Love making people smile and want to make a mark on this world. So far so good.

It may be for some people, and good for them, but it is not enough for me to settle for a Job that "pays the bills". Of course I don`t want to be broke, but I want to get paid AND be remembered for doing what I love, and that is to entertain. So hopefully I do successfully entertain you, if not, go and watch that scene from the 'Gladiator' film.
