Truls has close to 20 years of executive experience in driving innovation and commercializing new technologies for a wide variety of markets.

He started Pressure Systems International, GmbH in 1992 to serve the European, Middle Eastern and African market for Pressure Systems Inc., a world leader in the aerospace research instrumentation market.

After the sale of Pressure Systems, Truls co-founded Data Harbor, Inc. Data Harbor delivered full service data management as well as technology development services and products for organized medicine in the United States.

Truls then went on to co-found Ecto, LLC the company behind the world’s first social software learning platform used for collaborative learning and knowledge sharing in for-profit companies, not-for profit organizations, K-12 and higher education. EctoLearning and EctoConnect are being used by thousands of students and teachers around the world and by organizations as diverse as the American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP) and the Illinois Green Energy Network (IGEN).

He recently co-founded Socius Medical, LLC a company focused on delivering collaborative technologies for use by medical investigation teams that are developing image guided therapies with a particular focus on the field of interventional cardiology.

Truls also advises a wide variety of organizations on the successful alignment of strategic technology initiatives with the organizations business goals by rethinking the role of modern technology in internal and external collaboration and redefining the concept of knowledge management. He is currently working with companies such as Caterpillar and Case New Holland in the heavy manufacturing space as well as Kenmore and Craftsman in the consumer products area.

Truls holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, Virginia and is a member of the Advisory Board for the Bradley Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (Virginia Tech).
