Ty Rhame holds diverse professional experience in aviation, finance, art, and philanthropy. A professional pilot and aviation enthusiast, he currently serves as the co-founder and a strategic advisor to SterlingFunder.com, a company that focuses on helping entrepreneurs promote project ideas, raise funds, and implement business plans through crowdfunding. The company also enables investors to easily search for innovative business concepts and directly connect with entrepreneurs. Beyond his leadership role with SterlingFunder.com, Ty Rhame co-owns the Sterling Currency Group (SCG), a company that allows investors to purchase and sell foreign currencies. The entrepreneur also owns the Online Art Group, a retailer of fine art.
Educated at the United States Air Force Academy, Tyson Rhame earned his bachelor of science in political science in 1988 and currently holds the rank of Lieutenant Colonel in the Air Force Reserves. In addition to his professional endeavors, he undertakes a range of charitable activities as the founder of the Rhame Family Foundation. Based in Atlanta, Georgia, this organization is dedicated to supporting the local school system through grants to students, teachers, and nonprofit organizations. Tyson Rhame also supports causes through SCG, in 2012 alone, the company donated more than $80,000 to such groups as The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, the Wounded Warrior Project, the Make-A-Wish Foundation of America, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Nothing But Nets, and many more.
