Zamchungnyima Tashi Dhondup

Bangalore

I did my schooling from Upper Tibetan Children Village School, Dharamshala, i graduated and currently now studying in St.Joseph's College doing my B.Sc degree as a science student. I love to experiment and do things which no one has done before. I was born in Nepal with two brothers, two sisters and a younger brother. We left Nepal when my parent died and came to India with too much unfamiliar things and had to face this scary world. I was admitted to above school in 1998 during winter where everyone went for two months vacation, i spent my holidays in new allowed home. Communicating with other children was my first difficulty as TCVian has a unique dialect. I was with my brother, Tashi Tsering, in home no 33 also known as TinTin Home, I don't know why it's called TinTin. My younger brother Sonam Dorjee was sent to the Baby room which was just a walk away from my home. I still remember when we're given 5 rupees as a weekly pocket money that we spent for stationary. As we grown up, the pocket money also increased to 50 rupees with the requirement too. I was shifted to six different homes or hostels, to home no 6, later 37, 30 (Japan Home ) then Boys' Hostel later New Boys' Hostel and at last Boys' Hostel. It was great fun getting new room and meeting new students. When i was 18 i graduated from the school with less tears falling than my other friends and in hand some certificates telling us we're Free ( not literally).

Coming to Bangalore, was not so tough as what other graduated students had faced because i have always contact with my seniors and that time it was handy, got new room again and worst as possible i spent my first year with my six school friends, but it was great fun telling long lasting stories, what we did, how we're use to get punishment, calling teachers by their nick names. Sometimes i cry little when we're having school-talks. Food was as good as our Boys' Hostel Rajma and Tingmo combination. Everyone who studied in UTCV would never forget their time with this combo. Everyone loves this combo and i missed our school hostel's this combo the most with warden's pleasing mixed chilly. I'm still wondering what is the mystery behind this TCVian's wanting to eat this combo.

I'm currently working in NGO, Students for a Free Tibet as a Bangalore Chapter Director, i'd always this dream to serve my nation and which i cherish.
