About Me

Hi, I’m Tsholofelo Eugene Mogoiwa, but in the music world, you know me as DJ Gene. I’m a DJ, producer, and graphic designer from Kimberley, Northern Cape, where sound and visuals have always been my creative playground. My sets blend lounge vibes, deep & soulful house, and live music—crafted to spark emotion and rhythm whether you're chilling on a patio or dancing in a packed club.

I draw influence from both global legends and hometown heroes—from DJ Fresh, Glenn Lewis, Ganyani, Iggy Smallz, DJ Kanunuand Black Coffee, to local icons like Flexx, Robby & Lefa, and Mr-Spike. That mix of roots and ambition shaped my journey through company and groups like Ecstacy Communications, The Deep Movement, and Room Frequency, collaborating with amazing talents like DukeSoul, DJ Mabena, T-Smooth,DJ Bredt, DJ KayTee and Divine V.

I took things further with TOUCH AFRIKA RECORDS (now TAM DIGITAL), releasing tracks that topped the charts on Traxsource and made waves on Apple Music and Spotify. One of my proudest moments? Having my track Sheen featured on House Afrika DJ All Stars Vol. 1, alongside greats like Miggs FoReal, FunkDeep Star, and Malankane.

I’ve shared stages with legends—Ralf Gum, Black Coffee, Mi Casa, DJ Christos, and many more. And I’ve played everywhere from MACUFE to Disoufeng, New Café, Cubana Bloemfontein, and Philadelphia Lounge.

Beyond the decks, I’m passionate about purpose-driven music. In 2022, I joined Manuscript Records’ Antiwar Fundraiser, where my exclusive mix charted globally and raised awareness for communities affected by conflict.

Looking ahead, I’m excited to collaborate with artists like Millitone, Analog Summer, Mimi-Rose, and Prudence—always pushing toward new sounds, new stages, and meaningful impact.
