Early life
Liew (TS) born and grew up in Port Dickson, West Malaysia in 1968, he has 2 other siblings. Extreme poverty caused his grandparents to migrate from Guangdong China to Malaya in the late 1930s during the Japanese occupation of Mainland China. Having tasted the pain and bitterness of poverty, the family was constantly reminded to work hard, be frugal, share and help others who are in need.
Education & early career
Graduated from the University of Technology, Malaysia (UTM, 1987-1992) with a scholarship from the National Electricity Board of Malaya.
He spent 12 years(1992-2004) working for The National Electricity Board returning the gratitude of funding his university education. He regarded the 12 years with the board as the most rewarding career a young engineer could get. He traveled the world working and sharing experience with experts and independent bodies in engineering of various fields. Liew decided to pursue his own business after leaving the board in 2004.
Turning passion into business
Liew is passionate about entrepreneurship, technology & environmental sustainability. He attracted many investors in the businesses that he pursues which are related to subjects of his passion and competencies. He started businesses in engineering testing & maintenance that helps utilities and testing bodies to efficiently operate and maintain high value assets. He invest in Korean nano-tech firms to build the first antibacterial water supply pipes in the world (AB-3P) to help distribute safer water to the population. He invest in mega-wattage solar power plant in North Borneo to supply energy to locals and local utility in 2014. This facility will be equipped with an eco-friendly zero pollution water plant (Bano-water) for cleaning its own solar panels where the excess production can be distributed to locals for cleaning use. The Bano-water project was built in 2012 (invested in 2012) for home or industrial cleaning that’s purely water without chemicals & detergents.
Liew believe that small businesses play a major role in job creation and innovation. He invest in a venture (B2B Commerce) 2015 to assist small businesses by improving cash flow using a network of fintech partners.
