Makara Thach Sernett

Fairbanks, AK

I'm a proud 1.5 generation Khmer-American who immigrated to America with my parents in 1998. Memories of my childhood include chasing dragonflies in Thai refugee camps, and crashing into coconut trees while learning to ride a bike. Now you can find me painting, taking photos and editing photos for hours at a time.

My sights are on law school, but at the moment the military life has blessed me with the opportunity to develop my art. I'm always learning and developing my craft. Through paint and photography I strive to express my gratitude for this chance at the American dream and to share with you a piece of who I am.
