Living currently in South Carolina, I have moved my family across several states because of new, higher-paying and "career enhancing" jobs. My career was continuing on a upward path, but my twin boys turned 7 years old this year and I realized how little of their 7 years I actually got to spend with them.
Blessed with a husband who is supportive and who has given up much of his own career to follow me around, we made the decision for me to "retire" as we move toward a more simple, family-first lifestyle.
