Hi there, I'm Greg Rawlins. I was raised in England, but have spent the majority of my adult life either studying or working in Japan. In 2013 I graduated from the University of Sheffield with first-class honours in Japanese Studies, and moved to Kyoto to teach English at an academically advanced high school.

Japanese to English translation has been my passion ever since taking a class that involved translating ancient Japanese chronicles. I do freelance translation work online, and run a blog that translates popular posts from a Japanese anonymous blogging site.

When I was a child I received a hand-me-down Game Boy. I have loved videogames ever since. I enjoy following the industry, discussing games, and thinking about what makes a good gameplay experience. As a hobby, I have a blog where I write thousand word reviews of games that I finish.

I run a third blog that combines my two main interests by highlighting examples of great translations in videogames.
