Tunu Thom is best known for art works that center on the themes of motherhood, futurism, sexuality and community development. As a change agent and artistic visionary, Tunu utilizes the mediums of dance, choreography, acting, writing, and bead design to create thought provoking and culture shifting works. She is influenced by revolutionary artists and thinkers such as Gordon Parks, Leonardo Da Vinci, Nina Simone, and Paul Robeson.

Mrs. Thom is the founder and President of Art Mommy Inc. Art Mommy ​Inc. ​believes that family is the most important institution. Her blossoming corporation, fosters artistic development through ​life coaching services and ​creating​ tandem systems for artists cultivation and optimal family functioning.

Tunu has taught and performed nationally, from the world famous "Apollo Theater" in Harlem, to the "New Victory Theater" on Broadway. Internationally she has performed from the West Indies to Nigeria and the Philippines. Tunu is a graduate drama major of Fiorello LaGuardia High School of Performing Arts and holds a Bachelor of Science in African Centered Education and Performing Arts from the CUNY BA School of Unique and Interdisciplinary Studies. She has studied at NYU Steinhardt in the area of dance education. Tunu believes that good art is healing, truth professing, and functional.
