Rich Turasky

Rich Turasky is an investment entrepreneur and commercial real estate investment, finance, and development expert with more than three decades of experience working with private and institutional equity. As Founder and CEO of Capital Companies, he has directed over 100 commercial real estate investments across several states, managing portfolios that include more than 1,000 tenants while driving operational leadership and long-term asset growth.

Born in 1970, Rich earned a Bachelor of Arts from Bradley University in 1992 and later completed executive education courses at Harvard University. His academic background strengthened his foundation in strategy and management. He has also returned to the classroom as a featured speaker at the University of Illinois, where he has presented on entrepreneurship and commercial real estate investing.

Rich began his professional career immediately after graduation, focusing on high-potential private and institutional investments while representing major Chicago operating companies in commercial real estate transactions. His early work demanded expertise in market analysis, valuation, and execution. Over time, he expanded into complex investment structuring, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate governance leadership.

By the mid 1990s, he had built a reputation for strategic insight and disciplined execution. He became known for overseeing large-scale investments across multiple states, balancing tenant relationships with financial performance. His ability to align operational efficiency with investor returns positioned him as a trusted leader in commercial real estate and private equity.

Throughout his career, Rich has founded, led, or served on the executive boards of more than 20 operating companies across industries such as plastic manufacturing, pharmaceutical development, aviation, beverage distribution, and commercial and digital lending. He has combined financial backing with hands-on operational guidance, helping businesses scale while maintaining strong governance practices.

Notable projects include the Huntley SPEC Industrial project, demonstrating his ability to integrate planning, capital deployment, and execution.
