Life can change in an instant. When it does one of two things have most likely occurred; the choice was yours to initiate change and you accepted the call, or your option to intercept change was passed to The Universe...and The Universe put you back in the game.

My soon to be released book, Beyond the Cozy Garden is about what we discover through the auspices of risk taking. In this conundrum of life we do our best to ascertain what risks to take or pass. At some point in time, through the aperture of frontal vision or hindsight, we come to understand what those risks reveal about what we truly value.

I was first inspired to closely examine the process of selecting a risky endeavor when many decades ago, a friend of mine who desired to fly like a bird, jumped out of a tree, and nearly killed himself. Luckily for him, he was a bird…a parrot to be exact...and within a range of mental faculty that was appropriate for his desire to engage aerodynamics. Of course, there will be more on his story later in this book.

As an observer to his experience, I have since become a student of risk taking. It is a theme that has captured my interest, challenged my life many times over, and inspired me to have conversations with a wide range of people regarding the artful choice of risk.

My parrot and I look forward to entertaining and inspiring all risk taking aficionados, and delivering the scoop on how our studied subjects landed, within or Beyond the Cozy Garden landscapes of their lives.
