I am a teacher and caregiver in a shelter preschool. I wear so many hats, I'm surprised I don't lose one. I work as a family servises liason, animal wrangler, plumber, and care provider. and that's just in my official job! Some people wonder why homeless children. That's easy. They are the ones who are invisible, and the ones who need preschool the most.
I am also a Mother, Friend, artist, advocate and student. I recently completed Child Development classes at City College Of San Francisco, and I am working on my Masters in Education at Grand Canyon University (on line). So now I am qualified to teach in regular school programs as well as on Reservations.
There are many causes that I am passionate about, and sometimes I'm sad that I don't have the time, energy and resources to solve them all. Right now, my main focus is anything child related, but particularly homelessness, disability awareness and acess and preschool. Yes, all four are able to be combined. I also currently support agencies such as world wild life and Amnesty International.
I love life itself and view each day as a precisious gift. Anything involving nature catches my interest.I love spending time with my kids, volunteering in the afterschool program at the school near my house, writing, music and composition, dance, being outdoors, amature photography, horseback riding and so many other things that it is almost impossible to list them. I happen to have an unknown (dis) Ability that has left me in a wheelchair and some days so stiff and tired that I am unable to move, but I don't let that define me. It's a part of who I am, but not all of who I am.
