My name is Elena, I live in northern Italy and work as a librarian.
I love books, history, animals and creating with my own hands and my mind.
Creating objects altering materials and finding solutions is a constant challenge and a big love.
Everything started with two pieces of polymer clay. I explored this material far and wide; then came metal, glass, wood, fabric, paper.
Now I try to give shape to everything that comes in to my mind and to the mind of those who ask me something for themselves and for their beloved ones.
For my jewels I mainly use polymer clay, but often I like mixing media to get the result I want: I often take elements from other objects, ironsware, mechanical and electronic parts from something that is no longer in use; I like also to pick from nature: shells, stones, wood pieces.
For making the bags I use new and reused fabric, cotton, felt, fauxleather, vinyl records.
Ethnic, history, nature, books, memories as well as old and new cultures and atmospheres are my sources of inspiration which I let melt with my taste and my inventions.
I believe that each woman should be able to choose and wear special objects to adorn her beauty: jewels that speak of ourselves, that remind of experiences, travels, places, memories.. meaningful pieces of our lives.
I create what I like, I never make something I wouldn't wear myself, so my objects reflect my personal orientations and my way of interpreting beauty.
Homo faber, for his nature the man manipulates matter to create. This is true also for objects, as jewels for example, defined unnecessary. Beauty isn't unnecessary at all! A creative action of thought and the hand, if made with love, always brings something good and useful.
