Student and Musician in Philippines
I have always had a special connection with music. I started singing at the age of 3 and at the age of 8, I learned how to play the piano. I was very interested in learning new instruments so by the age of 11, I learned how to play the guitar too. I was part of a choir at our church and since then, I continued to join choral groups and music organizations in my school like the Unibersidad de Sta. Isabel Glee Club, and the Ateneo de Naga Music Ministry. I am currently taking up my bachelor’s degree in music, majoring in Vocal Performance at the University of Santo Tomas. I am part of the Coro Tomasino, an exclusive choral group for the students of the UST Conservatory of Music. I am also the secretary of the Conservatory of Music Student Council for the academic year 2021-2022.
Aside from performing and entertaining, I am also passionate about serving and being involved in the community. I find joy in community service which is why I have been volunteering since I was in junior high school. I joined the Ateneo de Naga University Peer Volunteers for 2 years and was able to offer what I can in facilitating and organizing activities in the university.
I believe that there is a need for me to utilize my passion and involvement in music through offering affordable services which led me into putting up my business. I want to help in the growth and development of music education in the Philippines. I also want to improve the accessibility of music education to everyone who wants to learn it.
As Gerald R. Ford said, “Music education opens doors that help children pass from school into the world around them - a world of work, culture, intellectual activity, and human involvement. The future of our nation depends on providing our children with a complete education that includes music.”
