Tony Whiteside

Tony Whiteside was born in Pittsburgh, PA. His family moved to Alabama when he was young, and that's where he began to build a strong foundation. After high school, Tony join the United States Army. He retired from the military after 23 years of faithful service. Tony has globe-trotted and spent serveral years working overseas, as well as more than two years deployed in support of the defense of our great nation.

Tony and his wife have teamed up to better serve the school system. His wife, Sherill, is past president of the Sue Reynolds Elementary School Council, and an avid volunteer. Tony and Sherill spent many hours volunteering their time at Warren Road Elementary School as classroom parents. Tony was a member of the Lake Forest Hills School Council, a member of the Richmond County Board of Education Pay-as-you-go Committee, and a Title I parent representative for the school. He also served on a committee assembled by the Richmond County School System who's purpose was to address issues within the school system and identify possible solutions and a way forward.

Tony and his family are a team. They are very active in the community. They have helped touch the lives of Augustans by volunteering numerous hours with the Golden Harvest Food Bank and Concerned Women, Inc.

Tony is married to Sherill. They have two boys: Cameryn and Anthony.
