Hi, I’m Tom I have a great passion for creating media from all aspects of production. This is anything from operating cameras to editing video and audio in post-production. In fact my ideal future career would be to become a freelance editor and videographer. I particularly enjoy video and editing because I feel it gives me great appreciation for the entire creative process of making media from start to finish. In addition, I have also found that one of the main skills I process as a creator is my attention to small detail which works very well with this type of career, especially in post-production.

I found my passion for the media industry in my last 2 years at secondary school. I then went on to study both film and media A-level at Itchen college sixth form, which is where I ultimately decided this was something I wanted to base a career off of. During my time as a media producer I have had so many opportunities to learn new skills and grow as a creator. This has been anything from producing factual documentary content for clients, to fictional storytelling and editing both video and audio in post-production.

I currently attend Southampton Solent University where I study Media Production (BA Hons). I feel this course has given me a platform to build my portfolio with work experience from Solent Creatives/Productions and other solo projects. As well as this the university has also opened up so many doors for me to get involved in extra curricular activity in the form of societies. In particular I enjoy getting involved with Radio Sonar in my spare time. I feel these opportunities have ultimately instilled me with confidence moving forward in my career.
