I am a single mother of two beautiful children. I am currently enrolled at Camden County College as a freshman majoring in Pre-Nursing. I am a first-generation college student. I plan to complete my Associates degree and move on to receive a BA in Nursing. I want to do this because of the life I want to give my children. I am committed to:

• Getting them out of poverty;
• Sending them to a better school district; and
• Raising them in a better environment.

I am truly a city slicker. I am from the City of Camden, and I am proud of who I am. I know alot of people look down on people from Camden, but I would like people to know that not everyone from Camden is high school dropout, a drug addict. Some of us have goal and strive for them, like me. Some of my aspirations include:

• Graduating college;
• Making it out of poverty; and
• Having a career not a job.

Whether I’m from the City of Hard Knocks, I believe I can make it out just because I will and I want to.

I strive for what I want and need for my family and me. Being a strong single mother is hard and very time consuming; but, at the end of the day I know my kids love me. As they get older they will appreciate the fact that their mother worked hard for them. I am outgoing and hard working and push myself to always achieve the most. No one can be perfect; but, I was always taught to try to be my best and thats what I put in my children’s heads.
