Hi, my name is Tyler and I have a twin sister.
Having a twin sister means I’ve never really had a moment to myself, but that honestly isn't a bad thing. Whenever I tell someone I have a twin sister, their first question is usually, “Are you guys identical?” Then, I have to tell them that I'm a guy and she's a girl—of course we aren't identical.
Growing up with a twin is like having a teammate and a rival at the same time. We've had the same birthdays, been in the same classes, and now we even go to the same college. Of course, always having to share everything caused plenty of arguments along the way. These quarrels were usually over small things such as what we should have for dinner or who got to control the TV remote. However, the most important part of being a twin is the competition.
My sister and I have always competed against each other. Whether it's over our grades at school or a card game at home, everything becomes a competition. Even if she annoyed me sometimes, those little competitions definitely pushed me to become better.
At the end of the day, having a twins means life will never be boring. I'll always have someone to compete with, argue with, and annoy.
