Tyler Jay Goepfert

I was raised in Upstate New York, USA, then studied at Cornell University and finished my BS in Biological and Environmental Engineering (BEE) in 2003. I worked at the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution (WHOI) in Woods Hole, MA until 2007 when I moved to Los Angeles to work at the University of Southern California (USC). In 2008 I studied renewable energy from PPRE at Oldenburg University in Germany earning my MSc in 2010. I followed this with a second round of MSc study in chemical oceanography at MIT and WHOI (MIT-WHOI Joint Program) where I continue collaboration with the Saito Lab.

From 2014-2019 I worked for the German government at the GEOMAR Helmholtz center for marine research in Kiel, Germany. In 2019 I began working for Arizona State University (ASU) in the School of Earth and Space Exploration (SESE) where I continue capitalizing on my diverse interests and skills while working together with a variety of Researchers and Students on projects ranging across geochemistry, biomedicine and forensics.
