Whether I am on the job or outside of work, I am passionate about people and love to serve individuals with acts of kindness. Nonprofits have always been a big part of my life and I enjoy serving at nonprofits that are passionate about the same things I am. I am also interested in sales and building relationships with communities. I graduated from Appalachian State University in May of 2018 with a major in Public Relations and minor in Social Work. I discovered my desire to major in Public Relations when I realized I enjoyed talking with customers while working in a grocery store. I am in the process of looking for jobs in my field of study or closely related.

After I graduated from high school in 2013, I started working at Ingles in the deli department in Spruce Pine, NC and then transferred to the Boone, NC Ingles while attending Appalachian State University. After graduating from college, I left Ingles in pursuit of another job. I also worked at Spear Country Store in Avery County, NC while in college.

The summer of 2018 after I graduated, I worked with my dad in carpentry before getting a job with a real estate company. I worked for Blue Ridge Realty and Investments as well as its sister companies, Blue Ridge Professional Property Services and Boone High Country Rentals for almost two years. During my employment here, I worked as a real estate assistant, leasing coordinator assistant, showing coordinator, front desk administrator, and a maintenance technician until I left these companies in March of 2020. I am confident that these jobs have given me customer service skills, the ability to build relationships with the public and fellow coworkers, and the importance of staying focused and on task to complete a goal in a timely manner.

In March of 2020, I got hired on with Bumgarner's Grounds Maintenance as a lawn care associate and I am still working for this company. We maintain individuals lawns and landscapes as well as commercial businesses. In the winter months, I do carpentry work and jobs on the side for people.

These jobs have taught me how to know the worth of your time and how to have a business mind when working with customers. Through these jobs, I have also learned the importance of time management and motivation, because they are both self-employed.

I am looking forward to the next step in my life, and I am excited about the education that I can offer that I learned during college in my study of Public Relations.
