Tyler Gerds
Educator, Photographer, and Volunteer in Greenfield, Wisconsin
Howdy, I am Tyler, currently serving as a Business, Computer Science, and Career Tech Education teacher at West Allis Central High School. My primary objective as an educator is to facilitate the development, growth, and learning of students while encouraging them to explore their interests and passions through our class content.
I hold a Bachelor of Business Administration in Human Resources Management from the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee. Prior to my teaching career, I worked in the healthcare industry as a Human Resources Generalist and Benefits Representative. These roles allowed me to develop a diverse skill set and gain valuable insights that have contributed to my personal and professional growth.
In addition to my professional pursuits, I am deeply involved in volunteer work with Scouting America and the Order of the Arrow, Scouting's National Honor Society. I have held numerous leadership positions within these organizations, through which I have gained extensive experience and achieved significant milestones, including earning the Eagle Scout Award.
Each summer, I dedicate my time to the LE Phillips Scout Reservation, where I have been a staff member for the past decade. My continuous commitment to this role stems from my belief in Scouting as a fun and enriching learning opportunity for all involved. This aligns perfectly with my passion for education and personal development.
