Out of all the things I have been through in my life, baseball has been the one constant. I grew up with the thought of baseball planted in my mind. My father loved it and so did my grandpa, which automatically made me love it. I started out with tee-ball when I was 4 years old and fell in love immediately. My dream was always to play in the MLB. My favorite thing back then, and now, is going to Braves games and enjoying the atmosphere and energy in Turner Field/Truist Park.
As I got older my love for it only grew bigger. I started playing club baseball in the fall and summer, with high school baseball in the spring. My years consisted of strictly baseball; which I was ecstatic about. I not only loved the sport, but I became addicted to getting better in all aspects of it. When I was 12, I jokingly tested out batting left handed, not thinking much of it. Fast forward 6 years and I was the team captain of my high schools varsity team batting left handed and right handed. The idea of switch hitting fascinated me and so I worked hard to make it come to life.
After my senior season in high school I decided to stop playing it competitively, as I felt I wasn't quite big enough and it was time to focus on school and the rest of my life. My once dream of playing the sport for the rest of my life had shifted into a reality, which I was okay about. I still love the sport in every aspect and can only thank it for teaching me hard work, work ethic, compassion, and responsibility which are important character traits I will continue to use for the rest of my life.
