Tyler Kelly

With interests in green energy and business, Tyler Kelly graduated from Pennsylvania's Lehigh University with a Bachelor's degree in 2012. He double-majored in Science, Technology, and Society as well as Environmental Studies. He also learned Mandarin Chinese. As a college student, Tyler Kelly ran track for Lehigh, which competes in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division 1. He also joined the National Society for Leadership at Lehigh. During that time, he volunteered as a ticket collector at the Middlesex County, New Jersey, Fair. He has participated in this activity since childhood.

Before his senior year of college, Tyler Kelly interned at Helios Solar Energy in Bridgewater, New Jersey. In that role, he obtained experience in various facets of the business, including construction, sales, and project management. He interacted with clients in New Jersey and Pennsylvania and kept employees updated on project developments. On the sales side, Tyler Kelly streamlined the contact tracking system for the representatives, which allowed them to leverage prospective and existing client relationships. He participated in efforts to win government contracts and developed estimates for other clients.

Kelly monitors the green energy industry by following news and reading books by experts such as Paul Hawken, Amory Lovins, and Bill McKibben. He also keeps up with sustainability initiatives from the United Nations and the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC).

Kelly's other experience includes a tenure as a Toys R Us associate and as a volunteer emergency medical technician (EMT). The latter post gave him a chance to learn how to make quick decisions, follow directions, and guide fellow team members.

Kelly is a 2008 graduate of Bridgewater Raritan Regional High School, where he participated in the National Honor Society and ran track.
