Tyler Patel

Hello, my name is Tyler Patel and I am a rising sophomore studying finance at the University of Georgia. In addition to the subject of business and financial systems, I plan on studying law school after graduating with my undergraduate degree. In particular, I am interested in the domain of securities law and risk management because it is a fine area of overlap of law and finance.

I have worked with a mentor in developing fundamental and technical skills in analysis, developing exposure to minor market dynamics, valuation techniques, and my mentor’s personal investment approach. This hands-on training has further motivated me to pursue a career in the world of finance, specifically in risk management and in the financial sector as I was able to meet with clients and understand their situations.

Outside of the classroom, I like watching sports, cooking, and playing golf. These help to balance me while pushing myself regarding education and career goals. In addition, I have volunteered with community organizations and have tutored K-12 students, helping to give younger students confidence in their schoolwork.

In the future, I hope to gain practical experience via financial and legal internships. These will give me the opportunity to confirm a career path.
