TYLER WEAVER
Ohio
I write stories in and across books, comics, radio and film. Some of those stories include COMING TO QUIET COUNTRY, the true story of a family’s escape from North Korea in 1950; WHIZ!BAM!POW!, a transmedia story experience of family, forgery, death rays and the Golden Age of comics; and short stories, like JUNE and A PERFECT FAMILY. I also wrote the book COMICS FOR FILM, GAMES & ANIMATION: USING COMICS TO CONSTRUCT YOUR TRANSMEDIA STORYWORLD, published by Focal Press.
I’m presently available for contract work, consulting, speaking engagements, and collaborations. My résumé is available at tyler-weaver.com.
“I was captivated by the stark, simple scenes and language of QUIET COUNTRY, and by the powerful moments Weaver chose to share. A compelling piece of short narrative nonfiction.” – Therese Walsh, author, The Last Will of Moira Leahy and The Moon Sisters, on COMING TO QUIET COUNTRY.
" … the intersection of Scott McCloud, Henry Jenkins, and Matt Madden.” – Carol Tilley, Professor and author, Seducing the Innocent: Frederic Wertham and the Falsifications That Helped Condemn Comics, on COMICS FOR FILM, GAMES & ANIMATION: USING COMICS TO CONSTRUCT YOUR TRANSMEDIA STORYWORLD
