Tylina Powell
As Alternative Dispute Resolutions Manager with Goldberg, Milstein & Black in Dublin, Ohio, Tylina Powell oversees collections department personnel and ensures effective sourcing of payments. In the role since 2003, she regularly evaluates associate performance as well as collections procedures. She provides coaching and strategy improvement when necessary to optimize department effectiveness, and offers support to associates in assisting them with payment sourcing. Tylina Powell comes to this role with several years of experience in collections leadership, having previously served as Collections Manager for Car Now Acceptance Corporation in Columbus, Ohio. Prior to this, she held a position as an account representative for OSI in Dublin, successfully sourcing payments on delinquent accounts through telephone, mail, and personal contact. Applying high-level negotiation and communication skills, she worked with customers to determine reasons for delinquent payments and set up payment schedules. Tylina Powell achieved status as a top revenue performer with OSI and earned four Employee of the Month recognitions. Tylina Powell joined OSI following more than six years as a corrections officer with the State of Ohio Department of Rehabilitation. Developing an in-depth familiarity with the facility and its inmates, she monitored inmate activity and diffused numerous volatile situations. Tylina Powell proved herself a keen observer and skilled communicator during this time, identifying potential behavior issues among inmates and conflicts within the community. She completed a number of specialty trainings while serving in this role, including gang affiliations and special reactions team training. She also received certification as a hostage negotiator. Tylina Powell holds an Associate degree from Columbus State Community College, where she studied law enforcement and psychology. She takes an active role in her community, volunteering at a number of organizations such as Meals on Wheels and Angel Tree Ministries. Involved in many church activities as well, she is a member of the hospital visitation and prayer team with The Church Next Door, and has been trained and certified in prison ministry by The Vineyard Church.
