Ty Melody Bio

Ty's warm smile and personality can be heard each Saturday and Sunday Mornings as the inspiring voice of praise and worship in the mornings. He has a relationship with his listeners who tune in to hear him play, Today's urban and contemporary Gospel music on WYPJ 95.3 FM. He also keeps his listeners buzzing, often providing opinions views on local, national and social issues ranging from relationship topics to encouraging listeners of their duty to vote.

Ty Melody grew up on Chicago South side and graduated from Percy L. Julian H.S. He is currently pursuing a Bachelor's of Science in Radio/Television Broadcasting at Chicago State University, where he host a Gospel radio show called the Melody of Praise on WCSU Radio (Chicago State University's Internet radio station). Ty has worked under the tutelage of V103's radio personalities Troi Tyler and Herb Kent he is also the host of a Saturday and Sunday morning Gospel show on WYPJ 95.3 FM, Anderson South Carolina under the guidance of Michael Robinson operational Manager/owner of WYPJ and WGIV, and former program director of WGRB Gospel Radio 1390 AM. Ty mentors fellow classmates and is very involved with many charitable organizations, such as the Vet Connect (which helps veterans connect with love ones) and the West side minister's conference. When he isn't on the air, he spends quality time with family and friends.
