Throughout her career, Tynesha has worked across the nonprofit sector helping organizations grow their reach, strengthen community relationships, and develop programs that create lasting impact. Her work includes leadership roles with organizations such as the YMCA, Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD), and Connections Homes, where she has focused on serving at risk youth and amplifying the voices of young adults transitioning out of foster care through community engagement, strategic partnerships, and storytelling.
Tynesha created and spearheaded Don’t Go Alone (DGA) Voices, a storytelling initiative designed to empower young adults to share their lived experiences with dignity and authenticity while helping communities better understand the challenges and resilience of those aging out of foster care.
Earlier in her career, Tynesha worked with the City of Atlanta advocating for the Mayor’s Youth Program, where she helped raise more than $250,000 for the program’s scholarship fund, expanding opportunities for young people pursuing higher education. She has also worked with Bridge Da Gap and served as a spokesperson for the DeKalb County Department of Juvenile Justice, where she led classes and conversations with youth focused on personal development, decision making, and creating positive pathways forward.
Her leadership and perspective were shaped through personal mentorship from two global icons, Dr. Maya Angelou and Ambassador Andrew Young, who instilled in her the importance of using one’s voice, relationships, and influence to serve others and create meaningful change.
As a speaker, Tynesha has addressed audiences at colleges, universities, conferences, and community gatherings around the world, sharing messages on leadership, resilience, and the power of storytelling to transform lives and communities.
Tynesha holds a Master of Accountancy from Alabama State University and continues to bridge her background in nonprofit leadership, marketing, and innovation to help organizations grow their impact while empowering individuals to step into their purpose.
