Tyrik Reed
producer and writer in Richmond, VA
Tyrik Reed is a native of Erwin, North Carolina. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Mass Communications with a concentration in Broadcast Journalism from East Carolina University. During his undergraduate career, Tyrik interned for WNCT Channel 9 in Greenville, North Carolina.
Currently, Tyrik is a Producer at WWBT-NBC12 in Richmond, Virginia. Journalism is his passion and he is committed to providing the best content for his station's viewers. Tyrik is a member of the National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ) and the Investigative Reporters and Editors, Inc (IRE). Tyrik has attended several journalism based conferences including the (NABJ) Region III Conference in Atlanta, GA and the NABJ National Conference in Detroit in August of 2018. He will also be attending the NABJ National Conference in Miami this year.
In his spare time, Tyrik is an avid reader and writer. He also enjoys giving back to the community, having volunteered for various organizations including the Ronald McDonald House, the Hospitality House of Charlotte, and Hashtag Lunchbag.
