Tyson S. Barrett
Data Science and Statistical Consultant and Research Assistant
I use quantitative methods to find clarity in a world of chaos. As a Social Science Statistician and Epidemiologist, I find ways to turn the vast amounts of data into actionable social, political, and business solutions. I use statistics and data visualization techniques to bring the story to light that is hidden in the data.
I am pursuing a Ph.D. in Sociobehavioral Epidemiology (July 2017). My research interests are in Health Economics, Data Science, and Applied Statistics.
My skills include: extensive experience in R and Stata, becoming fluent in Python coding, Data Mining, Machine Learning Algorithms (including Random Forests, Support Vector Machines, Classification/Regression Trees, Gradient Boosted Machines, and more), Generalized Linear Modeling (including gamma distribution modeling and logistic regression), Hierarchical Linear Modeling, Structural Equation Modeling (Latent modeling including Latent Class Modeling), Econometric modeling, Cluster Analyses, and more.
