Tyson Kettles
Said by many to be altruistic in nature; however, in his comedy he shows a much deeper darker side. Born July 22nd, 1980 to two hard working parents. Asbury Park, NJ bred this dark and at times self-deprecating comedian. Performing has always been a part of Tyson's life. As the youngest of six children he was often looked to for comedy on the spot. Whether it be in McDonalds or Pizza Hut, his Mother would ask him to perform in the oddest places. After being expelled from Asbury Park High School, he graduated from the NJ Youth Challenge Academy at Fort Dix, NJ. He moved on to serve as a Mechanic in the United States Army for nine years. During that time he served in Operation Iraqi Freedom and was Honorably Discharged in 2007. After serving our Country he took a few stumbles. It was after he fell to the bottom that he realized that life was too short not to follow his dream. He decided to make Comedy his career. The first time he set foot on stage was at Rascals Comedy Club in Ocean Township, NJ. At first he performed jokes off the top of his head as he did in his youth. As he developed as an artist he began to write not only his comedy, but also spent time perfecting his: poetry, song parodies, and sketches. He draws upon his personal mistakes made throughout his lifetime and raw observations. He is currently jet setting between the East and West coasts. His largest audience is in the Tri-State area. He has performed at a variety of venues such as: Apollo Amateur Night, New York Comedy Club, Caroline's on Broadway, Stress Factory, Tampa Improv, Jon Lovitz Comedy Club at Universal City Walk, and also hosted Garrett Morris' Downtown Comedy Club just to name a few.
