Ty Van Wingen began “dabbling” in real estate during summers off from his career as a school counselor. However, the real estate bug bit Ty and it became evident quickly that this was something he loved and excelled at.

“Dabbling” evolved into a full time endeavor in 2005 and in 2012 Ty achieved his broker’s license. His genuine nature, responsiveness to client needs and passion for the business expedited his path to becoming a full time Realtor® as well as contributed to his quick success. In addition to his work as a real estate agent, Ty also worked on a contract basis with the federal government helping members of the armed services sell their homes during the housing crisis. Ty is the first person in history to have actually enjoyed working for the government. Tyler is known to persistently find creative solutions in challenging markets. He is data driven and passionate about helping people have positive real estate experiences.

Ty enjoys spending time with his wife and kids and loves ‘being a family’ in a family friendly city. He loves to run, bike, and just be outdoors…..particularly when it’s warm. Ty grew up in Grand Rapids, enjoys volunteering, taking his kids on outdoor adventures usually involving the beach, eating at great local restaurants, listening to live local music (Ty is a “band husband”), and wearing shorts whenever Michigan weather allows.
