About Tzvi Scheller
Personal Biography
Tzvi Scheller is a 17-year-old from Israel with a passion for storytelling, writing, and creating meaningful content. After recently making aliyah, he now lives in Israel with his family. Before moving, he lived in Lakewood, New Jersey, as well as Baltimore, Maryland, and California. Living in different communities has given him the opportunity to experience a variety of people, places, and perspectives, helping shape his curiosity about the world and his interest in sharing stories.
His father is an educator who regularly travels to schools and communities to teach and inspire others. Growing up in that environment gave Tzvi the opportunity to travel throughout the United States and internationally, including visits to Japan and many different states across America. These experiences introduced him to new cultures, ideas, and people, and helped deepen his appreciation for the unique stories that exist all over the world.
On many of these trips, Tzvi records his father's presentations, giving him hands-on experience with filming, editing, and digital media. Over time, that interest grew into a love for creating videos of his own. Alongside writing, he enjoys filmmaking, photography, graphic design, and exploring new ways to communicate ideas through visual storytelling.
Tzvi has always been drawn to remarkable true stories, fascinating discoveries, history, current events, business, and the lessons that can be learned from real life. He enjoys researching topics in depth and presenting them in a way that is clear, engaging, and enjoyable for readers of all ages. Whether he is writing an article, editing a video, or designing a publication, his goal is always the same: to create something worthwhile that people will remember long after they have finished reading or watching.
The Velt Update
That interest in storytelling eventually led Tzvi to create The Velt Update, a weekly family-friendly magazine that brings together remarkable true stories, fascinating discoveries, current events, success stories, Torah insights, humor, and uplifting content into one publication.
Rather than focusing only on negative headlines, The Velt Update is designed to help readers learn something new while enjoying stories that inspire curiosity, appreciation, and meaningful conversation. Every issue is carefully planned to be engaging for children, teenagers, parents, and adults alike, making it something families can read and discuss together around the Shabbos table.
Each edition typically includes:
A gripping Main Story based on a remarkable true event.
"That's Fascinating," featuring unbelievable places, inventions, or discoveries.
"Success Behind the Success," exploring the struggles people faced before achieving success.
Short News from around the world.
A practical Dvar Torah connected to the weekly parshah.
Family-friendly humor and creative sponsor features.
Every article is selected with one guiding question:
"Will someone finish reading this and want to tell the story to someone else?"
If the answer is yes, it belongs in The Velt Update.
Mission
Tzvi believes that great stories can educate, inspire, strengthen emunah, encourage perseverance, spark curiosity, and bring families together. Through both The Velt Update and future video projects, he hopes to create content that people genuinely enjoy reading, watching, and sharing.
Rather than simply reporting news, his goal is to uncover the stories behind the headlines—the moments of courage, determination, faith, creativity, and resilience that often go unnoticed.
Looking Ahead
Although still at the beginning of his journey, Tzvi hopes to continue growing The Velt Update while expanding into video journalism, documentary-style storytelling, and digital media.
He dreams of traveling the world, meeting extraordinary people, uncovering incredible true stories, and sharing them through both writing and video. His vision is to build a trusted media brand known for producing content that is informative, inspiring, family-friendly, and memorable.
Whether through a printed magazine, a camera lens, or a video, Tzvi's goal remains the same:
To tell stories that inform, inspire, and bring people together—one story at a time.
