Dr. UdayTamhankar had graduated from the renowned and eminent Government Dental College in Mumbai. His field of specialisations have been oral and maxillofacial surgery, anaesthesia and implants.Dr. UdayTamhankar had started off his career with a Gold Medalin the field of Anatomy from Mumbai University. He has also displayed interest in literary works. As a medical practitioner he has contributed to medicine and the society at large in innumerable ways.
Career
Dr. UdayTamhankar added value to his career by completing a few certification courses in U.S.A at a time when nobody was pursuing these fields in India. His certification course in dental implants was completed in New York University, a course in Smile Design from Dallas, and a few other courses from Tufts University in Boston.
Professional Achievements
Dr. UdayTamhankar had started with two practices; one in Mumbai, Borivali and the other in Palghar. Dr. Tamhankar has always believed in upgrading himself and his services; hence, after setting up Ceramco Dental Clinic, when he realised that the manufacturing labs were failing to provide quality dental services, he re-established Ceramco Dental Lab in order to provide better facilities to patients.
He has received ‘ISO 9001’ Quality Assurance Certificate from Italy and his dental clinic was the first in the country to get that certification in the field of dentistry.
He had also started a dental chain in Mumbai named as ‘New Ceramco Dental Clinic’ under which he opened a number of clinics in areas like Virar, Vasai, Manim, Wadal etc.
He has advocated preventive dentistry by conducting several Dental Poster Exhibitions.
Bollywood Stint
Along with continuing his medicinal pursuits he has diversified his interests and produced a film Kaydyacha Bola in the year 2005. The film was directed by Chandarana Kulkarni and was released on 4 November 2005.
Social Services
His interests and his deeds have been driven by the needs of the common man. Despite starting his medical practices in two different places, he had conducted free dental checkups and treatments for people residing in the backward areas of Palghar. Apart from this, he has conducted a number of free school camps in Bolivari area. His focus has always been on preventive dentistry and he has always ensured that his clinics are consistently upgraded in terms of equipment and technology.
