Udit Kumar

I am Udit , born in India, moved to Abu Dhabi (UAE) for high school education. UAE ‘s multicultural environment shaped me to easily connect with people from very different backgrounds and adapt quickly.

In 2012, I completed my bachelor’s degree in engineering and joined oil and gas industry because of its niche technical scope and engineering application.

During my experience, one of my main take away was the ability to envision and deliver various products from engineering design to fabrication to client handover, while managing third party contractors and client expectations to catalyze the product development pipeline.

In 2017, I decided to embark on a new journey to feed my entrepreneurial spirit and really push myself outside comfort zone.

I resigned my job, sold the house and flew to Thailand, Chiang Mai, to teach English to school children.

From oil and gas field to a classroom was a huge shock!! However..

Creating a small positive impact in those children’s life, made me realize that motivation and true satisfaction comes with a sense of purpose. To push myself further I volunteered to help local communities in Mongolia. Within a few months I went from +50 °C to -30 °C. This 180° shift was not only in climate but also in my personality. I had to quickly overcome language and cultural barriers, adjust to extreme weather and find my purpose. Faced with so many challenges, I learnt that the core of anything is people and mutual respect. Within a few weeks, I was truly integrated in the local community and was organizing team building events, awareness sessions with miners and building relations with local business leaders.

During my journey, I was also able to complete 2 weeks Gobi-Desert expedition in Mongolia and went on various hikes, which taught me perseverance and importance of positive attitude in any situation.
