Ufok Ibara
Media Practitioner, Lecturer, Filmmaker, and Researcher in Nigeria

Hello!

I’m Ufok Ibara, a Media Practitioner, Media Lecturer, Researcher, and Creative Storyteller based in Nigeria. I hold a Master’s in Theatre and Film Studies (with Distinction), and my work centres on culture, communication, and social impact.

I believe in the power of stories to shape minds, bridge divides, and spark change. Through film, education, and advocacy, I maintain the mission of using media as a tool for cultural understanding and ethical progress. My research explores how symbols and narratives influence social norms, and my creative works: screenwriting, acting, Filmmaking, seeks to amplify voices that matter.

Beyond the camera and the classroom, I am deeply engaged in humanitarian and community development. I have served various directorial roles for various NGOs including Director of Research and Documentation; Assistant Lead, Target Audience Mobilization, Head of Administration; and I’ve had the privilege of contributing to initiatives on health, gender, and governance including representing civil society at UN Human Rights Council engagements.

I am a filmmaker, a researcher, a teacher at heart, and a firm believer in purposeful collaboration. Still, I’m always learning.

Feel free to reach out or schedule a conversation. I’d love to connect and explore how we can create something meaningful together.
