Özgür Yıldız
Özgür is a longtime video game and technology journalist. He previously worked as a Marketing Specialist at ASUS Turkey and as a Retail Merchandiser at BenQ Turkey. After serving as an Account Manager at WASD, a communications agency providing PR and marketing services for companies across different industries, he became a PR Consultant for AMD, a global leader in processors. In that role, he was responsible for AMD’s PR operations across the Middle East, Turkey, and Africa.
He later returned to the media side of the industry. After writing articles, reviews, and producing videos for Mashable Turkey, he now contributes daily news, technology, and science articles to Hürriyet., one of Turkey’s oldest newspapers, while also writing game reviews for IGN Turkey.
Özgür started using computers at the age of four and continued exploring technology until graduating from Bahçeşehir University with a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering.
His passion for video games began early, when he first played Hangman on an IBM PC. As a child, he managed to experience nearly the entire NES and SNES library. He never owned an Amiga or Commodore, something he still regrets. Today he remains an avid PC and console gamer, with experience in both gameplay and game design.
In addition to video games, he has extensive knowledge of PC hardware, gaming peripherals, and mobile devices.
Özgür is also raising a daughter — and secretly hopes she will grow up to be a gamer too.
