Ulf-Göran Nilsson was retired from June 1, 2018 after 36 very interesting and exciting years in the library field and he is now a library consultant.

Ulf-Göran Nilsson was during 2019 owner and consultant at Sthlm Information Partner, a company focused mainly on library activities, project management and strategic management support.

Ulf-Göran Nilsson was the Library Director at the University of Skövde Library in Sweden between February 2012 and November 2014. He was recruited as a new Library Director to Jönköping University on December 1 2014 but due to some heart problems he had to take a new career decision and join the library team for supporting research at the university. A nice challenge in a very exciting field.

From the mid-nineties he worked as the deputy library director at Jönköping University and established several national projects. Some of the projects contributed to the fact that the library was named The Library of the Year in Sweden 2005. Ulf-Göran was also the chairman of the University IT Council for several years.

Ulf-Göran has been a member of the IT Commission at the national Knowledge Foundation for five years. The Knowledge Foundation was established in 1994 and since then it has invested some SEK 7.9 billion in more than 2,100 projects.

Before Skövde University Ulf-Göran was the Head of Department for media acquisition, IT, publishing and web-based learning at KTH, The Royal Institute of Technology.
