I was born in Ankara, Turkey. Graduated from Ankara University, Department of Economics at Faculty of Political Science in 1985

I started my professional career at Central Bank of Turkey at Foreign Exchange Transactions Division. I worked at various divisions on reserve management, foreign exchange transactions and open market operations.

I moved to private sector in 1994. I worked for banks as executive manager. My main responsibility was on treasury activities.

I decided to leave banking sector (before 2001 crises) by moving to media sector in September 2000 and started to make TV program at CNNTurk.

I have been regularly writing articles on business and economics for daily newspapers since 2001; now Hürriyet Daily.
