About Me

I am Umar Farooq, a highly motivated student pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Sciences at the University of Jhang in Pakistan. My academic background is well-rounded, with a strong foundation in pre-medical sciences from Government Postgraduate College Jhang. My passion lies in environmental issues, particularly those related to water quality and pollution control.

Throughout my studies in Environmental Sciences, I have delved into various environmental challenges. My coursework has covered water testing, filtration, and pollution analysis, air pollution and sampling techniques, as well as the application of GIS and remote sensing in environmental science. I have gained a deep understanding of water filtration processes, including physical, chemical, and biological methods (BOD, COD, and TDS).

Project Leadership:

To further my understanding and apply theoretical knowledge practically, I undertook a project on a Hybrid Wetland System for Water Filtration. This project involved two distinct experiments - one at the University water treatment plant and another at Hira Paper Mill LTD. Through this project, I not only gained valuable hands-on experience but also devised a solution to reduce heavy metal concentration in the paper mill's wastewater. This project demonstrably improved the company's wastewater treatment process.
