Umit Erlim

LONDON

Istanbul born, London based actor Umit Erlim has worked in film, theatre and television in Turkey and England. Most recently he co-starred in Turkish director Cagan Irmak's feature film "Nadide Hayat." He also was a star of a popular television series in Turkey for 3 years. In theatre, Umit has played a diverse array of roles that span from Shakespeare to Sophocles to devised works. He recently completed his MA in Performance degree at Goldsmiths, Theatre & Performance Department in London, and while there developed and acted in the performance piece, "My Name is B," which then was performed at the Merge Festival, ArtsAdmin, Camden People’s Theatre and The Proud Archivist. In 2014, he was invited 20th Sarajevo Film Festival’s Talents Programme and he was in their Promising Young Artists. Umit also travelled to Sweden, Poland, Germany and France with an international street theatre company while he was studying acting in Istanbul. Umit has a wide array of interests and talents, including that he studied Physics in university for 3 years, played basketball for 8 years, is a one-star Scuba Diver, martial-arts practitioner, translates plays, and is currently developing his first feature film screenplay.
