University of Medical Sciences Students’ Union Government
Led by Kalejaiye Abolaji John
The Blueprint Administration has remained committed to strengthening institutional systems, improving student welfare, promoting inclusivity, and enhancing campus life through transparent and accountable leadership.
Key Achievements
Institutional Strengthening:
We established administrative structures for student associations, religious groups, and campus organizations to improve coordination and accountability. We also enforced official bank accounts for associations, eliminating personal accounts and promoting financial transparency. Student notice boards and feedback/suggestion systems were introduced to enhance communication and participatory governance.
Welfare & Infrastructure:
We initiated and supported the campus shuttle service, improving student mobility and safety, alongside a Free Transportation Day for financial relief. A ₦950,000 drug support grant was secured to strengthen healthcare delivery. We also advanced advocacy for health services, student insurance, and campus-wide Wi-Fi. Additionally, a Students’ Union bus was provided through state support, and the Students’ Union Sit-Out was completed as a hub for relaxation and engagement.
Academic Empowerment:
We hosted Freshers Connect for orientation and mentorship, introduced the Academic Award of Excellence for outstanding freshmen, organized a Financial Summit for financial literacy, and created a Scholarship Hub to expand access to academic funding opportunities.
Health & Wellbeing:
We strengthened collaboration with the University Counseling Unit to expand mental health support and organized an Asthma Awareness Drive, including sensitization and distribution of free inhalers.
Campus Life & Unity:
We delivered MEDRAVE 2025, the biggest campus social event featuring Bad Boy Timz, organized the largest Women’s Conference with Bishop Funke Adejumo, and conducted the BOD Campus Tour with over 600 students. In sports, we introduced female football into the Vice-Chancellor’s Cup and sustained the Students’ Union Cup to promote unity and inclusion.
The Blueprint Administration remains committed to building sustainable systems that prioritize students and improve campus life.
This administration’s impact is reflected in its recognition as the No. 1 university with the best-rated SUG government in Nigeria—underscoring visionary leadership, active representation, and student-driven progress.
We are building a lasting blueprint for student leadership, impact, and transformation.
