One year I made a New Year’s Resolution to get off all my prescription medications.

At that point in time, my health history was comprised of horrible allergies 50 weeks of the year (a year has a grand total of 52 weeks). This consisted of a daily allergy tablet, a nasal spray as needed, antibiotics for the regular sinus infections, and prescription cough syrup for the hellish coughing bronchitis that went with the sinus infection. The year leading up to this resolution, I had been working with an allergy doctor taking sublingual immunotherapy and not one bit of improvement.

And also on the radar, horrible indigestion which had no change through all four of the prescriptions my primary care provider had written, each were ineffective on my digestion problem.

So, when a friend suggested I see a naturopath, a doctor of natural medicine, who was highly recommended, I thought, there is nothing to lose, I’ve tried it all.

Within six weeks of seeing that doctor, I could feel the improvement in my sinuses. I stopped taking ALL sinus medications within that first year and I have not had one sinus infection since that first appointment, 7 years ago now. And my indigestion, gone, completely gone within a couple of months. All of these positive changes in my body was from whole-food supplements that balanced my body. FOOD based supplements. FOOD that you put in your body each day. I was completely amazed and blown away that FOOD could affect my health in such a positive way.

No one ever told me how food could change my quality of life!!! This experience changed my life put me on a path to search for more truths out there, simple, straight forward truths, yet elusive, not mainstream, even played down . . . beat down at times.
