Suliswanto Urubingwaru

Suliswanto Urubingwaru was born in Kediri, East Java and now resides in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. Urubingwaru is active as an artist as well as a writer of the arts, and a cofounder of two artist collectives 'Gelora Art Group' (GAG), and Titik Kumpul Forum, both based in Yogyakarta.

Urubingwaru's art practice straddles the line between visuals and storytelling; using fiction and other literary methods to expand upon themes which relate to history, myth, and identity. Currently he works in a range of mediums: drawing, painting, installation, performance and interactive public art. He has exhibited nationally since 2019, and in 2020 he was awarded the Bronze Pekan Seni Mahasiswa Nasional Award (PEKSIMNAS), awarded by the National Achievement Center.
