Urvashi Bhagat
Founder, Chief Executive Officer, and Chairwoman of the Board of Asha Nutrition Sciences, Inc., Urvashi Bhagat has had a long and multifaceted career in health care, biotechnology, and pharmaceutical development. Asha's foundational purpose is the balanced and tailored delivery of nutrients, with specific emphasis on lipids, antioxidants, and phytochemicals, which Ms. Bhagat maintains hold the key to optimal physiological functioning. Since the company's foundation in 2008, she has led Asha's strategic direction toward a futuristic nutrition science company that represents the future of health and vitality.
Prior to forming Asha Nutrition Sciences, Urvashi Bhagat was the Founder and President of Health Care Solutions, a consulting firm that assisted health care companies with strategy and business development. Under her leadership, Health Care Solutions attracted well-known clients in the health and biotechnology industries, including Stanford University Hospital, Sangstat Medical Corporation (acquired by Genzyme), Chiron Corporation (acquired by Novartis), and the University of California at San Francisco Medical Center. Urvashi Bhagat also founded Anthera, Inc., a company focused on researching the manufacturing and sourcing of pharmaceuticals.
Ms. Bhagat is a medical visionary devoted to achieving breakthroughs in the use of nutrition to prevent and treat deadly diseases. She has made ground-breaking discoveries in lipid metabolism, interactions with other nutrients, and manifestation of infectious and chronic diseases and acute events. She holds several patents on her scientific discoveries. Urvashi Bhagat obtained Bachelor of Science in Biology and Chemistry from Kurukshetra University in India, where she graduated at the top of her class and among the top students in the state-wide university system. She also earned Post-Graduate Diploma in Public Relations from the Sardar Patel College of Communications and Management in Delhi. She continued her education in the United States, earning MBA from the University of Baltimore's Merrick School of Business, where she excelled academically and landed a spot on the dean's list.
When not devoting her time and energy to nutrition science, Ms. Bhagat is a voracious reader and enjoys reading on anthropology, psychology, and inspiring figures. Additionally, she plays piano and enjoys exploring nature with hikes and adventure travel.
