US Awasthi

Having served Indian Farmers Fertilizers Cooperative (IFFCO) since February 1993, Dr. US Awasthi is currently the Managing Director and CEO of the organization. Besides having completed chemical engineering from the renowned Banaras Hindu University, he holds over five decades of experience across multiple domains including Urea, chemical fertilizer, leadership, cooperative and project management.

Owing to his dedicated and meticulous work in the fertilizer industry that serves public, private and cooperative sectors in India, he has been bestowed with numerous prestigious awards such as the Uttar Pradesh Gaurav Award by Society of Environment & Agricultural Advancement, “Best Chief Executive of the Year 2002” award by Ministry of Shipping, Government of India and Eminent Chemical Engineer Award by Indian Institute of Chemical Engineers.

The credit for the diversification of the IFFCO into forays like IFFCO Chhattisgarh Power Limited (ICPL) and the General Insurance Company - IFFCO Tokiogoes to US Awasthi. As a part of the IFFCO family, US Awasthi has been very instrumental in making it the largest fertilizer cooperative, empowering over 4 crore farmers and cooperative members.
